The Ealing I SAID service (Impartial Advice, Information and Support on Disability and special educational needs) provides free and confidential advice, information and support to parents, carers, children and young people aged up to 25. Advice is free, impartial and confidential.

About the service

Family Action is a voluntary organisation committed to supporting families to realise their potential. The service was previously known as Continyou Parent Partnership service and has now extended its remit to provide impartial advice, information and support in the areas of education, health and social care to families and children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs. This can include:

  • independent support including information, casework and informal advocacy and support in meetings, reviews and assessments;
  • support in resolving disputes and facilitating communication between families and schools/professionals;
  • informal disagreement resolution;
  • resource library on education, health and social care;
  • support for parents and young people to understand relevant procedures and legislation either through one-to-one appointments or workshops/training courses.

If disagreements cannot be resolved with the support of this service, then you can contact the formal mediation service run by KIDS.

Who can they help?

They support parents/carers of children:

  • with any kind of additional need (learning, social, physical, medical etc) from ages 0 to 25
  • who live in Ealing Borough (even if their child goes to school elsewhere)
