Pace Charitable Trust

PACE is a voluntary organisation promoting the inclusion of young disabled people in sports and leisure activities. It was established in June 2004 following a consultation with young disabled people and their families.

They currently offer 5 key services for young disabled people between the ages of 13 and 25 years old, their friends and siblings.

  • PACE Multi-sport and Leisure - sessions on Saturdays (2-4pm) for people who want to take part in recreational sport, socialise, meet people and have fun. Siblings, friends and family of members are welcome to come and we also always welcome new volunteers.
  • PACE Boccia - a boccia club for those who wish to play competitive boccia. Currently, athletes play in the national league, as well as at regional and national level. Two members are also in the England Talent Squad. Sessions take place on Saturdays (12-2pm) and Sundays (11-1pm).
  • PACE2independence -  weekly evening sessions providing practical advice and support for disabled people to overcome barriers or challenges that they may face, including isolation, lack of skills development, unemployment, support with CV writing, funding applications, life skills, independent travel and many more. Sessions take place at an arranged time that is convenient for both parties.
  • Multi-sport Challenge Days - tailor made adapted multi-sport challenges for organisations that may have members with a wide range of complex disabilities. The aim is to get them active and participating in a challenging yet enjoyable environment. Activities are adapted to include even the most complex of disabilities. Places we have delivered include Day Centres, SEN organisations and schools. PACE is happy to travel and deliver this service at your venue at a time suitable for you.
  • Community Coaching - a service designed to develop skills, experience and provide employment opportunities. Suitable members and volunteers will be provided with opportunities to train and complete accredited coaching courses. They may then be provided with opportunities to deliver coaching projects with PACE and other local organisations, helping them into full or part-time employment.

Please contact Pace for more information on any of these activities.
