Autumn Minimize

The term seemed to start slowly, quite a few of our "old faces" have left us to go to nursery or school, but suddenly it is all happening and we are welcoming many new families to our play sessions.

We are incredibly lucky that at the same time some new volunteers have started to work with us, so everyone who needs help or just fancies a quiet cup of tea and a chat can do so whilst their child is happily playing with someone else. One of those new volunteers today seriously impressed us all by speaking to a new mother in Japanese. Our play sessions always reflect the diversity of the Ealing population and we try to find linguists amongst staff and volunteers whenever we can to help families settle in but this was a first for us!

We've already had a party at Heller House and a Swimming Party at Gurnell Leisure Centre in September. Despite the ferocious weather outside (it was nearly as wet outside as inside!) everyone had a great time in the water.

Our Makaton course has started this week, running alongside the session so parents with young children can attend. The first of our sibling workshops has also started and will continue with the second session tomorrow. If anyone is interested for their 6-8 year old siblings, our second workshop will start next week, Saturday 13th October. Ring me on 07914 311298 if you would like to know more about it!
