Want to Vote?

With a general election coming up many people with a learning disability might be wondering how they can vote and who they should vote for.

We have some useful tips for you.

  • Support Mencap's campaign asking for the main political parties to produce easy read manifestos. Take part here.
  • Complete a form to ask for a postal ballot. Useful if you will find it difficult to reach the polling station. You can download an application here and return it to the Electoral Registration Officer, Ealing Town Hall, New Broadway, London W5 2BY. Of course, if you don't live in Ealing then you will need to send it to your local registration officer. You can find out where they are at yourvotematters.co.uk.
  • Visit Every Vote Counts for some Easy Read guides to voting and an easy to follow walkthrough.
